🧠 Enhancing Emotional Intelligence at the Workplace
RAK College of Dental Sciences (RAKCODS) successfully conducted a workshop on “Emotional Intelligence at the Workplace” for faculty and staff, presented by Dr. Fadia Alfateh, Assistant Professor of Prosthodontics.
The workshop aimed to enhance participants’ understanding of emotional intelligence and its role in fostering a positive, respectful, and productive workplace environment. The session explored key dimensions of emotional intelligence, including self-awareness, self-management, empathy, effective communication, and interpersonal relationships, with emphasis on their practical application in everyday professional interactions.
Through engaging discussions and workplace-based examples, faculty and staff explored how emotional intelligence can contribute to effective communication, stronger teamwork, constructive conflict management, and positive professional relationships. The workshop also highlighted the importance of recognizing and managing emotions when navigating workplace challenges, understanding different perspectives, and working collaboratively toward shared goals, reinforcing the value of emotional intelligence as an essential professional competency.
The training was conducted as part of the KAIZEN Workshops for Professional Development, organized by the Human Resources Office, reflecting the institution’s commitment to continuous learning, quality enhancement, and ongoing professional development.
